Current Season

Salford City created a women’s team in 2018 called Salford City Lionesses. In their first season they won the treble. They started off in the seventh tier of the women’s football pyramid. They only had one defeat in the whole season which came on the last day of the season in the Manchester FA Women’s Challenge Cup Final against rivals FC United of Manchester, as they lost 4-0.

 

They followed that first league title win the following season in back-to-back promotions into the North West Women’s Regional Football League Premier Division in 2020. Two seasons later the Lionesses came very close to another promotion, however they finished runners-up in the North West Women’s Regional League Premier Division as they finished below FC United of Manchester.

The Lionesses' continue to play in the North West Women's Regional League and currently sit second from bottom in 10th place on 10 points after playing 15 games.
